Механический голос начал отсчёт ровно за минуту до запуска главных двигателей.
Десять.
Мысли загустели, практически остановились.
Девять.
В области живота что-то бурлило и кипело. Руки крепко сжимали ручки кресла.
Восемь.
Через иллюминаторы полился ослепительно белый свет квантовых двигателей корабля.
Семь.
Ещё чуть-чуть, и я вновь увижу то самое бесконечное чёрное пространство.
Шесть.
Створки на иллюминаторах медленно поехали вниз, скрывая последние клочки синего неба.
Пять.
Всё замерло.
Четыре.
Казалось, время превратилось в густую смолу.
Три.
Последняя секунда тянулась вечность.
Два.
Рука незаметно потянулась к цепочке на шее, на которой висел небольшой флакон с прахом.
Один.
«Мама, ты можешь гордиться мной!» - сказал я сам себе, тихо поглаживая то, что когда-то было моим самым близким человеком.
Старт.
Asdean покидал родную планету, улетая на поиски новых неизведанных миров.
ENGLISH
The mechanical voice began to count down exactly one minute before the main engines were started.
Ten.
My thoughts got thicker, they almost stopped.
Nine.
There was something bubbling and seething in the pit of the stomach. My hands were gripping the arms of the chair.
Eight.
The blinding white light of the ship's quantum engines streamed through the portholes.
Seven.
Just a little more and I will see that endless black space again.
Six.
The windows slid down slowly, hiding the last of the blue sky.
Five.
Everything came to a standstill.
Four.
Time seemed to have turned to a thick tar.
Three.
The last second stretched for an eternity.
Two.
My hand moved imperceptibly to the chain around my neck that held a small vial of ashes.
One.
«Mother, you can be proud of me!» - i said to myself, gently stroking what had once been my closest person.
Start.
Asdean was leaving the home planet, going in search of new unknown worlds.

*Мы вышли за пределы Солнечной системы. Моя дежурная группа открыла шампанское как-раз в тот момент, когда корабль покидал очерченную на звёздной карте орбиту Плутона. В этот же момент я впомнил, что давным-давно, ещё в 20-м веке, один великий человек сказал: «Как рыба вышла на сушу, чтобы стать человеком, так и человек выйдет в космос, чтобы стать кем-то другим.»*
Всё - Земля позади.
Больше нет гравитационных оков.
Словно птица в небо летит,

*Корабль Asdean приближался к границам системы DHR-19. Его двигатели уже не работали долгое время и корабль просто шёл по инерции к заданной точке. С нечеловеческим упорством корабль продолжал двигаться – он шёл к своей цели.*

* The Asdean spaceship was approaching the borders of the DHR-19 system. Engines were no longer running for a long time and the spaceship was simply going by inertia to a given point. With superhuman tenacity, the spaceship continued to move – it was moving toward its goal.*
